“POUR LE MÉRITE” TOURBILLON

In 1996 Fabio Bertini – then director of PISA 1940 – became friends with Günter Blümlein, architect of the relaunch of A. Lange & Söhne. PISA 1940 is one of the first Italian retailers to believe in the refounded German manufacturing. Thus was born the collaboration between A.Lange & Söhne and PISA 1940 for the Tourbillon “Pour le mérite” in a single copy
in steel . “I was intrigued by the idea of having an online version
steel of a product usually made of gold: it was something out of the box, especially considering that it contained an important complication inside it.”
With these words Bertini convinces the German Manufacture to proceed with production: thus the Tourbillon “Pour le mérite” was born for PISA 1940 with 316L steel case. A watch that has made history by becoming a true icon thanks to the association
between construction material and the Tourbillon complication, which is made even more exceptional if you consider that A. Lange & Söhne prefers gold and platinum for the creation of its timepieces.
