PORTUGIESER ANNUAL CALENDAR EDITION “PISA”

Portugal is a country of navigators, explorers and traders: seafarers, practical and constantly on the move. When at the end of the 1930s, two Portuguese traders commissioned IWC to produce a watch that guaranteed the same running precision as marine chronometers, the Schaffhausen technicians managed to satisfy them. The massive dimensions and the sober round case made it a model far from the art deco style of the time. PISA 1940 celebrates its 75th anniversary and the inauguration of the Flagship Store with this iconic timepiece with a limited edition: 25 examples that contain the essence of this icon. The Portugieser Annual Calendar Edition “Pisa” respects the features that have made this timepiece famous: 44 mm steel case, black dial, continuous seconds counter at nine o'clock, day counter at three o'clock, in addition to the complete calendar positioned at twelve.
